Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport, you’ll be warmly greeted by your professional safari guide and transferred to your lodge in Arusha, a bustling town at the base of Mount Meru. Depending on your arrival time, relax at the lodge or take a short nature walk to spot local birds and monkeys. Optional activities include a visit to a local market, coffee plantation, or cultural center to get a feel for Tanzanian life. Arusha is the perfect place to recover from your flight and prepare for the incredible wildlife journey ahead. After a welcome dinner and briefing by your guide, settle into your comfortable accommodation surrounded by nature.

After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive approximately 2.5 hours to Tarangire National Park, known for its ancient baobab trees and massive elephant herds. Begin your first game drive upon entering the park, where the Tarangire River acts as a lifeline during the dry season, attracting large concentrations of wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, and unique species like the fringe-eared oryx. Tarangire is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, with over 550 species recorded, including yellow-collared lovebirds and raptors. Enjoy a picnic lunch in a scenic spot and continue your afternoon drive before heading to your lodge for sunset views and dinner under the stars.

Leave Tarangire after an early breakfast and travel through the highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing scenic Maasai villages along the way. This full-day journey to Serengeti National Park is a game drive in itself, with changing landscapes and wildlife sightings en route. Arrive in the Central Serengeti by afternoon and enjoy your first game drive on the legendary savannah plains. The Serengeti is teeming with wildlife expect to see lions lounging in the grass, herds of wildebeest and zebras, graceful gazelles, and maybe even a leopard in a tree. Settle into your tented camp or lodge in the heart of the park and fall asleep to the sounds of the wild.

Spend a full day exploring the vast Serengeti, one of the world’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. Begin your morning game drive early, when predators are most active. Watch cheetahs scan the horizon, lions on a fresh kill, and elephants moving through the grasslands. The Serengeti is famous for its role in the Great Migration (depending on the season), where millions of wildebeest and zebras traverse the plains in search of greener pastures. Stop for a bush picnic lunch and continue tracking wildlife through riverine forests, rocky kopjes, and open savannah. You may also spot hyenas, jackals, hippos, crocodiles, and a wide variety of birds. Return to camp as the sun sets over the plains.

After an early breakfast, enjoy a final game drive in the Serengeti before beginning your journey to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Drive through the Ngorongoro highlands and descend 600 meters into the crater,a stunning natural amphitheater and haven for wildlife. With one of the densest populations of large mammals in Africa, the crater floor offers a unique chance to see the Big Five in one location. Spot endangered black rhinos, wallowing hippos, large lion prides, and flocks of flamingos on Lake Magadi. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater and continue your game viewing until late afternoon. Ascend and head to your lodge  in Karatu.

After a relaxed breakfast at your lodge in Arusha, take time to reflect on the unforgettable wildlife encounters and breathtaking landscapes you’ve experienced over the past five days. Depending on your international flight time, you may have a short opportunity to visit a local craft market or cultural center for some last-minute souvenirs. Your guide will then transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), located about 1–1.5 hours from Arusha, ensuring you arrive with ample time for check-in and formalities. Say goodbye to Tanzania with a camera full of memories, a heart full of adventure, and dreams of returning to the wild again someday. End of services.
